Health, Dental & Prescription Coverage

Medical and Dental Insurance is provided to Full-time employees, at no cost to the employee. Employees can opt to add dependent coverage(i.e. child[ren] only, spouse only or family) at a group rate which will be payroll deducted. Medical and dental benefits become active after a probationary period of 90 days.

Life Insurance 


There are two coverage plans of Life Insurance for full-time employees, at no cost to the employee. Upon a member's death,  Texas Municipal Retirement System guarantees beneficiaries or estates at least a refund of the remaining member deposits and interest. TMRS also proves the Supplemental Death Benefit to active members and retirees. A 10,000 Life policy with MetLife is also provided to active full-time employees.
