City Secretary

The City Secretary’s Office provides administrative support to the City Council, City Manager and staff. In conjunction with the City Manager’s Office, the Office of the City Secretary prepares and distributes all City Council agenda packets, attends all meetings of the City Council and keeps minutes of the proceedings, accepts and validates petitions submitted by citizens, and conducts all the municipal elections.

Also, the City Secretary's Office helps hundreds of customers annually; codifies all ordinances adopted by the City Council; catalogs city ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and proclamations; coordinates and processes open record requests; posts meeting agendas for the City Council and the various board and commissions; issues various permits relating to  alcohol, banners, peddler & soliciting, recreational vehicles and road closures; oversees the records management program for the City; and performs research of records for the City Council, staff, and the public.
